It's a miracle!

In an annonymous evaluation, a student *didn't* say they hated me! Woo hoo!

Here, in fact, is what they said:

"I never had an AP test score because I was never in an English APclass, but with the instruction we got from Prof. Spencer, I can'timagine that any AP course from any High School could have come closeto her expertise"

I know. I'm as shocked as you are.

You're a good teacher. It's shocking when people don't realize it!

I didn't even know that teaching Creative Writing was a job. If think if I had, I wouldn't have been so hasty to dropkick that English Major path I was on. Writing teachers wrock. ;)

Yay for being able to be a writing professor! My parents totally yelled at me/mocked me for my decision/thought I was insane when I changed my major from chemical engineering to english, but it turns out it was a MUCH more stable profession! Yay for not having to work at McDonald's like they said I would!

MMM. McDonalds.

Why are they soooo hung up on the AP comparison. Even if it's "college level," an AP class never seemed like a college class to me. And vice versa. It seems strange to compare them in a real life way.

well, stevie love, what I didn't explain was that this particular survey was a research study comparing AP classes to actual college classes. The people doing the research just forwarded me what one of my students said because he?/she? named me and the research people wanted to tell me something nice and stuff. Yay for them!

So, let us get this straight, "Would you like fries with that" no longer applies? But it was such a good line. As we write, we're marching Kristin down the same "Don't change your major mid stream" tirade parade.
