What makes your life worth living?

When I was at physical therapy today (more than a friggin YEAR after the accident and I still go to this, yes), the tech doing the untrasound on my back was telling me ALLLL sorts of stuff. Stuff like his elaborate fantasy about being the only skinny guy in the WWF and what his costume would look like and how everyone would cheer for the skinny-buff-awesome kid who was definitely NOT wearing a speedo. He also told me about how he's got a big fishing trip scheduled for this weekend. He said, "I have to have *something* to look forward to, or else I can't make it through the week."

This reminded me of a conversation I was having with a friend of mine about how the only way I got through chemistry class was the fact that I had a crush on a boy in chemistry (not Guy-Smiley, steve. I'm talking about a different chemistry class!). So I *wanted* to go to chemistry. I wanted to *study* chemistry. (my mind is making up all these lame jokes about boys and chemistry right now!) Chemistry class was something I looked forward to every, single day. It was soooo exciting! So dramatic! So awesome!

So, this leads to the question...Once you're all old and married with kids and stuff, how do you get this excitement back? How do you look forward to a day/class/activity with as much excitement as I had about that chemistry class?

What works for you guys?

I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but I love the time that I carve out for myself. Reading, writing, sewing, pursuing whatever *I* want to do at the moment while the kids are napping/watching tv/playing quietly. That's what I look forward to.

This is going to sound soooo corny, but I look forward to that moment when Neil comes home from work, and looks around the house and sees all that I got accomplished...and in that moment, I know he's proud of me.

I don't get those moments often enough, but certainly more often than I used to. And I'm glad of that.

Simply put; hiking. I could expand or try to get deep, but I won't. I don't think others get excited about what I get excited about. Just like I probably wouldn't have "chemistry" for the same guy you would. It is different for all. BUT if you are talking about feeling twitterpated once you are old a married - that is different. I live through my single friends, babysitters, and other teenagers I talk too. I recently taught I class at Youth Conference called Flirting 101. It was AWESOME!

I don't have crazy kids, but I do have a crazy life, and I swear, magazines, a few shows on the DVR, and a Diet Coke are the daily things that get me through. As for something to look forward to, I like to have a BIG thing to look forward to, like a vacation (even if it's just a one-nighter). That's what gets me through 6 solid months of campaigning- looking forward to the break I'm going to be getting at the end of it.

Kimberly! I tried to comment on your blog, but my computer (which sux) kept freezing and wouldn't let me scroll to where the comments where! This happened this morning, this afternoon, and now. ACK!

Anyway, love the new templete.

Um, there's *another) chemistry guy to irrationally and juvenile-ly and half-jokingly be jealous of??? You and your chemistry guys! It's a good thing I have *natural* chemistry. (Or do I just need to take a shower?)

You.

you're hilarious, steve.

and of course there's more than one chemistry guy! I got a whole minor in chemistry which means I took multiple chemistry classes a year for four years! And I don't even like chemistry! How do you think I got through it? :-)

I love your cheesy butt!

hmmm I think what gets me through the day is looking forward to being with friends, I don't care what we do, I just love to have the company and the break from school! But you know what Kerry, what gets me through my 8 o'clock World Civ class is looking forward to hanging out with you and going to your delightfully entertaining class(I'm honestly not trying to suck up!I promise!) and Audra I need some tips from your Flirting 101 class!!
