Is it ever okay for a 20-year-old to date a 35 year old man?
Even if he happens to be a doctor?
Who looks like this?
(And, yes, that's his REAL picture. Apparently, in addition to being a doctor, he is also a part-time male model.)
(And no, the 20 year old is not me. Thanks for thinking I'm that young, though.)

My grandparents were 14 years apart. Weird.
MmmmHmmmm I think it's more than OK, I think it's GRRRREAT!! And I'm lovin every minute of it!!
For reals? Like he really is a model? Are you sure he's actually a doctor? As far as the age thing, I had an ancestor who was 40 and married a 16 year old. His wife died and he needed someone to take care of the kids.
for reals, Michael! I asked.
okay, definitely the doctor. it doesn't matter how nice the other guys shoulders were....
Doctor all the way. I'd date a 35-year-old doctor who looked like that. No question.
I wasn't a fan of the shoulders, though, so that was a pretty easy call . . .
Outcome of "Pick My Destiny": Goooood choice everyone from hnrs 150!! I picked the Doctor!! and had a very lovely evening--We watched the Mummy, went to the Ampitheater behind the insane asylum, went on the footbridge ("Music Man"-esque), and he even invited me back to Canada in November for a Formal Ball that all the doctors go to!! Wowzers!!
Who is the 20 year old and where did she find him? All I got was a 10-year UVSC student with a Dr.s worth of debt. Hmmm. I never did know what I was doing. Ha.
My parents are 10 years apart. But they married when they were 23 and 33, so it was a little different. I think a lot depends on the 20 year old and as long as they don't get married when she is that young!
Sorry, 20 year old. I think there's something a bit creepy about a thirty-five year old who wants to go out with someone that young. (just responding to the poll... ) I would peg him as someone on the prowl for a trophy wife.
which flatters your good looks, of course. But still...
Depends on what he's like. Is he young at heart? Or an old creep looking for a young trophy wife?
I wouldn't say 'never' because the moment I do some emotionally mature 20-year-old with oodles of life experience will prove me wrong, but it's a huge gap at 20. And what is he thinking? Oh wait, I know the answer to that one...
It depends on who the 20 year old is. Is it MIss Provo?
that depends anonymous... who are *you*?
Is anonymous jealous?!!
For whatever my two cents is worth:
I think it's OK for the twenty year old to date the doctor. However, I'm concerned about why the doctor wants to date the twenty year old. I'd worry about control issues. . .
But who knows??? Maybe he's just tired of dating thirty somethings (too bad for me . . . )
Karen
Hells yes!
I'd date him.
For further clarification: the 35 year old is VERY young at heart, he's never been married, never had children (he just was concentrating on Med school), and I wouldn't be a trophy wife, the proper term is "Arm Candy." AND Age is Just a Number!!
The rule is: half his age plus seven. In this case, if he dates anyone younger than 24.5, it is creepy.
See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_disparity_in_sexual_relationships#The_.22half-your-age-plus-seven.22_rule
that's for relationships. I suppose in arm-candy world, relationships might not be part of the game.
End notes:
1. the "young at heart" makes me roll my eyes.
2. I am married to an MD.
Johnna, that rule SO rocks!
"The Dream Team" Miss Utah and Doctor Canada, Woo hoo!!
What was the problem again?
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher
Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas
Rock on!!
